Kanye is the name of a town in Botswana. In 1980 there was one recorded use of “Kanye” as a name for a human being. In 1990 there was, again, one reported use and in 2000 the same. Suddenly, in 2004 a shocking and frightening turn of events befell the world. Without any explanation “Kanye” became the 487th most popular baby name in the United States.
Unfortunately the Supreme Court has ruled that naming your child Kanye is not a form of prosecutable child abuse. These children will have many struggles until 2022, when they are legally old enough to have their name changed. Until then we must not look to the casualties, but to the future. Let the world know that we will not tolerate any more of our descendants to fall victim to this horrible, horrible name. |
